Katalyst’s Solution
- Katalyst SAP Basis experts analyzed the issues faced and recommended upgrading the BPC system and HANA database.
- The BPC systems were hosted in the cloud using Amazon Web Services (AWS). Katalyst upgraded the BPC system from BPC 10.1, BW 7.4 SP 8 to BPC 10.1 BW 7.5 SP 17. Katalyst also upgraded the database from HANA 1.0 to HANA 2.0 SP4.
- Approach: Straight forward approach was adopted where the upgrade is done on the existing BPC system directly. This approach is suitable when downtime for the BPC system is acceptable. It results in low hardware and maintenance costs.
- The below figure explains the process involved in upgrading the entire BPC landscape. A complete backup of the system was taken before performing the upgrade.
